Healthy consumption on the rise

The commitment to a healthy life is clear. But this trend of life does not exclude our own decisions. Eating well, doing sport and reducing our energy consumption are first steps. But they are not the only ones. When we make any kind of purchase, whether online or in person, we are also leaving our own ‘footprint’.

One of the main trends is the commitment to a healthier cuisine. The consumption of fresh fruit and vegetables is experiencing a progressive boom. This has not slowed down online sales, as consumers have learned that this type of product continues to arrive in perfect condition, even if they do not buy it directly from a physical shop. This learning has occurred, in large part, as a result of the increase in online sales of commodities, experienced during the confinement of the Covid-19 crisis.

In this sense, food safety is going to be another of the characteristics that consumers will look at most, both in the short and medium-long term. As far as the food sector is concerned, the online channel, until now, was practically residual (only 0.2% of turnover).

Some already define food security as medicine for the 21st century. Consumers are going to be increasingly demanding when it comes to checking the safety and guarantees with which food reaches their homes. It is a question of pure and simple trust. But this safety is not just about ensuring hygiene, it is also about supply.

Because there is something we cannot forget. And it has been the real panic over the food shortage that many citizens have experienced. A fear that is understandable, but which has proved unfounded, as food supplies have been guaranteed throughout the confinement.

This fear has made us look towards the rural world, without which this supply would not have been possible. Whether through traditional or organic farming, this sector has been crucial in overcoming this difficult situation we have had to live with.

But food security is also within our grasp, in many of the decisions we make in our own homes. The fact is that ceramic finishes will always provide us with that ‘extra’ confidence and hygiene to make us feel more at ease in our homes.

Cooking on a ceramic surface is a guarantee of healthiness. They are pure, natural and antiseptic finishes, easy to clean and resistant. They are the perfect allies for those who love to cook, without having to worry about whether the surfaces on which they handle food provide them with sufficient safety or not.

In short, these are factors that give back to the consumer the leading role and will promote a more responsible consumption in all areas, because the consumer is going to be increasingly demanding of brands, asking them for ethics and responsibility.
