Our care about searching for sustainable materials is a reflection of a social concern: we are aware that consumers have changed, and demand from companies an involvement in values – especially environmental ones – which must be reflected in all their processes, relationships and decisions.
Eco-friendly manufacturing is strategic for Esmalglass – Itaca since we have long assumed that our role in protecting the environment should be an active role. We are aware of the footprint that each of our decisions has on the planet and that is why at a certain moment we made the determination to change many things.
Sustainable materials, process and solutions
In order to become a responsible organization, we have to work responsibly. And this concern must be extended from the beginning to the end of our production process. Therefore, we have been developing new practices that ensure an eco-friendly manufacturing.
More sustainable resources
The fuel we use is one of the cleanest ones: we have chosen natural gas as an energy source since, of all fossil fuels, is the one with the least carbon content. This way, the emissions from our production centers becomes much lower.
Even more: to further reduce our CO2 emissions we have built our steam turbine cogeneration plant, capable of providing us with up to 70% of the electricity we need.
In addition, all the water we use in our industrial processes is collected and reused: we are committed to sustainable consumption that reduces our water footprint, aware that, without water, life is not possible.
Sustainable materials
To create sustainable products, we are using sustainable materials – with the added value of being manufactured following the maximum environmental care throughout the production process. We are committed to study and analyze any raw materials option, and choosing the cleanest solution.
