More and more people want their home to be a further demonstration of how committed they are to their surroundings, and they expect the same from the brands they consume. At Esmalglass-Itaca the commitment is real, something that is evident in our products as well as in our manufacturing processes.
Reduce, reuse and recycle
They are key for protecting the environment, as they help generate less waste and have a lesser impact. They also help lay the guidelines for the strategies of businesses like ours aiming at a lesser impact of its activity on the environment.
- Reduce: Not only do we generate 70% of the electricity we consume and have we reduced water consumption by recovering the industrial water generated in the manufacturing processes, but our eco sustainable products use pre-consumer materials in high proportions, thus significantly reducing the necessary natural resources and CO2 emissions.
- Reuse: we make use of the subproducts generated in the production processes with the aid of a packing reuse system, leading to minimised waste generation.
- Recycle: the waste generated is selectively recycled: wrapping, packaging, cardboard, paper, plastic.
Not for nothing are we one of the sector’s main companies to obtain the Integrated environmental authorization and ISO 14.001 certification relating to Environmental Management System, as well as belong to the United States Green Building Council, which promotes sustainability in building according to the Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED) system.
Natural materials
The real commitment is going beyond what is expected of a company that considers itself responsible. In our case, the commitment to sustainability is reflected in production processes which are more respectful and in sustainable quality products, ones which last longer and are energy efficient. Esmalglass-Itaca has solutions like SlimBODY, whereby, thanks to a reduction in the mass per unit produced, we reduce CO2 emissions to the atmosphere; DigitalGlass, a family of digital enamels which reduce water consumption by up to ten times, as well as eliminating surplus materials, waste and unpleasant smells; or Shape-Ink, which is capable of creating reliefs using digital processes, resulting in savings in energy and time. And these are just some of Esmalglass Itaca’s proposals for the design and building market.
