In the ceramic industry, each drop of water is of vital importance, and this is why, at Esmalglass Itaca, one of our main objectives is to guarantee its use in a sustainable fashion, making it our most important ally in developing pioneer products for our clients.

Digitalglass, innovation at the service of society

At Esmalglass Itaca, we have taken digital transformation to another level. The digitalization of processes in our company has allowed us to create eco-sustainable proposals like DigitalGlass, our latest digital solution for water-based enamelling, with water consumption ten times less than that of any other traditional application on the market, as well as reducing emissions and the impact on the environment. Thanks to investment in innovation and technology, we have developed more efficient processes which make our ceramics a more sustainable material.

The evolution of the digitalization of our company has taken more than 20 years and began with the launch in 2000 of the first industrial prototype of a digital printer, followed by the launch, in 2005, of our first digital inks. In 2011, we already had the capacity to present the first prototype made completely using digital processes, and, in 2012, we obtained the patent for digital water-based polishing processes. The following year, we developed the first machine to help make this process possible.

Our purpose has always been to obtain a fully digital process, which not only allows us to optimize water use, by reducing its consumption, but also to change a whole sector which needs to reduce its impact on the environment for it to be sustainable.

Final objective: quality and sustainability

With advances like those obtained with Digitalglass, Esmalglass Itaca has become a company driving the sector, a pioneer in the development of eco-sustainable processes and solutions with a minimum impact on the environment, helping to reduce emissions and operational and logistics costs, as no waste is generated, and as it also implies more efficient production control. In addition, the quality of our products is guaranteed. In fact, quality and aesthetics have been improved and an even broader range of options can be offered to the consumer, with the possibility of greater personalisation regarding finishes and textures, which can be tailored to their needs.
